We lost our sweet baby of 17 years just a few days before we went to the adoption center and weren't honestly expecting to find another kitty, especially considering we stopped in one hour before closing. We told the tech that we wanted a super cuddly cat that was good with cats, dogs, and kids. It seemed like a tall order honestly. To our surprise, the first cat we met with completely melted into my husband's lap and hasn't left it since we brought him home. We left with Kringle (now Pants) same day and he has been such amazing fit into our family. Not only is Pants perfect, but the workers there are fantastic. The tech showed us every cat available. The other worker that stood in our meeting with Pants listened to our story about our late cat and actually teared up herself. And while all this was happening, we had 2 toddlers (one of which has autism and can be a little difficult to keep calm) that were acting wild, as toddlers do, and they were so incredibly understanding. I can't stress how thankful we are for everyone there and how much we recommend stopping in if you're looking for a new furry family member.

I totally endorse and recommend. I adopted Roscoe NOV 2024 after placing my wife in assisted living 1OCT24 and our Bubba down from Feline Kidney diease on 30 OCT. Mid NOV I contacted Mclean-Cameron of possibly adopting another cat. Explained my situation (Im undergoing cancer treatments). The young lady said they had a Roscoe for me. I ventured up to check, non comittal. I came home with my Sr Cat Roscoe. After over a year still not sure, did I rescue him or did he rescue me?

I recently adopted a dog from the center. She is wonderful very smart and just a love bug. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful however they didn't seem to actually know much about the dog. They didn't know if she was house broken (which she is) , unsure about her temperament around really anything or anyone (she hasn't been socialized around other dogs or people - so we are working on that), and I noted with her very first potty break in the yard she has tapeworms (which she's getting treated for). I have nothing negative to say about the staff this all just seems to be a training or leadership matter - getting the staff to know the animals, work as they can to socialize them, looking at their stools for signs of worms etc. I can tell this is a caring staff they just maybe need a little guidance as there is no way she got tapeworms from the shelter to my car :-) Love her loads and I'm glad I am able to give her the home she deserves.

I adopted a lovely pitbull/lab mix; the website said, and the employees told me that he had a good history with cats. I kept him for a month because I loved him, but his prey drive was too strong, putting my girlfriend’s cats in danger. I had to return him, and specifically told them in his surrender paperwork that he shouldn’t be around cats, but they reposted him for adoption as “mixed with cats.” Setting him up for failure. He’s a great dog otherwise, it’s not his fault. Honesty is the best policy. They need to stop lying. It’s immoral and it toyed with my feelings, my girlfriend’s feelings and ultimately the dog’s feelings. Not cool.
